Permaclub at Hawkridge Homestead
A monthly day of shared farm labour, learning, and food systems practice.
Participants exchange time and care for hands-on knowledge, community, and—during harvest months—a share of farm produce.

Principles in focus: Creatively use and respond to change
As temperatures shift, we begin preparing for the next cycle. Participants will harvest remaining crops, plant fall beds, and help begin construction on a new glass greenhouse.
This day focuses on transition—how farms adapt to changing conditions through design rather than expansion. We’ll discuss siting, materials, and long-term thinking in infrastructure decisions.
You’ll leave with: exposure to greenhouse design principles and an understanding of how farms respond to climatic and seasonal change.
We’ll continue harvesting, plant fall beds, and begin construction on a new glass greenhouse. This day explores how farms adapt to seasonal and climate shifts through design.
Focus: infrastructure, transition, long-term thinking.
